Abstract

This paper introduces a secure ad hoc network routing protocol, called secured predictive multipath routing protocol (SPMP). The protocol relies on group-trust-scheme to establish routes which incorporate only trusted members. The key idea of the group- trust-scheme is the exchange of series of secret passphrases for node authentication. The SPMP also enables a node identify only trusted receivers of route request packets to limit the maximum number of route requests to be not exceed the number of nodes in a network. In addition, the protocol strengthens route availability by determining signal strength of each pair of links for selecting qualified routes.
