Handover, IEEE 802.11 WLAN, internetwork mobility, mobile ipv6.
In this paper the scalability of Mobile IPv6 was studied in a wireless LAN laboratory testbed where multiple users are simultaneously making handovers. The disruption time in TCP and UDP traffic was measured during the handover process of all mobile nodes. In practice, simul taneous handovers occur if group of users are in a moving vehicle or if the access point is moving eg. in military networks. Results show that handover times dramatically increase as multiple users make handover at the same time.
