QoS Protocols for IP Multimedia, Multimedia Tools andArchitectures, Multimedia Networking and Communications, Multimedia Streaming
A new approach to support interactive video streaming applications over the Internet has been recently proposed and simulations results proved its effectiveness [1, 2]. In this paper we implement this approach through VISP, a client-server application protocol. The protocol is provided with additional features, such as VCR-like functions and a client-server clocks synchronization mechanism. VISP has been tested over the Internet and results confirm that it can well support interactive video streaming applications over the Internet.
