Computers and Technology in education, software design, kindergarten software, and toddlersoftware.
Numerous application software exists that attempts to teach children various educational skills. However, some of these programs tend to have short-comings. A discussion is made of some typical problems found in children's educational software, as well as recommendations for improvement in the design of such programs. No specific packages would be quoted, because of copyright issues. The problems with the existing children's educational package include teaching children the wrong pronunciations for words, the inclusion of features which may distract them from educational activities and making children become impatient in some cases. The paper refers to software for children between the ages of 2 and kindergarten age.
