-- Today, multimedia transmission over wireless networks encounters several problems and the result is a poor video quality perceived by the end-user. This paper investigates the feasibility of video streaming transmission over EGPRS mobile networks. This study shows that the highest error protection scheme of the EGPRS may resolve the compressed video stream error sensibility problem but the corresponding available bit rates are too low for this application. In the opposite, the lowest EGPRS error protection scheme bit rates may make possible the video streaming transmission but error sensibility of the data is too high for an acceptable user video quality.
