peertopeer, query processing, replication, loadbalancing
Recently, peertopeer (P2P) systems have become popu lar for both data exchange and cooperative working envi ronments. However, an effective document sharing mecha nism is required to work cooperatively on P2P systems. In this paper, we propose replication methods to perform ef fective document sharing on a P2P system where peers fre quently join and leave the system. The proposed method uses the relevancy and usefulness of peers to determine how many replications should be made, and where to lo cate these replications. In addition, we propose an update procedure for replicated documents. This paper shows em pirically that the proposed method improves the efficiency of query processing and loadbalancing.
