Layered Video Multicast, Adaptive Layer Mapping
In this paper, we present a new adaptive layer mapping algorithm for Intra-session bandwidth allocation in layered video multicasts existing in many distributed multimedia applications. The main c-ontributions of this paper are: (1) an adaptive layer mapping mod-el and its simplified one abstracted from our two developing projects. (2) a new adaptive layer mapping algorithm and its two imp-roved versions. We have evaluated these three algorithms in theory and demonstrate that the algorithms always achieve high total video receiving quality with high bandwidth utilization and little complexity.
