Software agents, cooperative work, transaction manage ment.
The theme of this paper is on support of cooperative work using mobile agents and advance transaction models. It is a paper discussing our use of software agents in devel oping a transactional framework and a transaction manage ment system that support cooperative work. The paper first discusses the general advantages and challenges of using agents in cooperative work. Then using the results from this, we describe our use of agents in implementing a trans action management system. Finally, we discuss how we can use our system for development of agent-based groupware, emphasising the challenges that we have to face. The main contribution of this work is the way we use mobile agents to allow dynamic reconstruction of transactions.
