A multi-input single-output Wiener model is applied for the identification of a new type of superheater, integrated to a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler. The basics of identification based on Wiener structures are presented. A steady state model based on energy and mass balances is derived for the considered superheater. Model parameters are estimated based on industrial data from a 80 MW CFB boiler. The results indicate that the approach can be used to capture and describe the steam temperature satisfactorily in a wide range of variation in the input variables.
