Induction Motor, Field-Oriented Control, Real-Time Simulations, Rapid Prototyping.
In this paper, the authors present a fully digital real-time simulation of a high performance indirect field-oriented controller driving a three-phase induction motor using RT-Lab running on a simple off the shell standard personal computer. This tool is now adopted by many high-tech industries, particularly automotive and aerospace industries, as a real-time laboratory package for rapid prototyping of complex control systems and for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) applications. For these industries, the use of real-time simulations is now recognized by their design and test engineers as a promising technique for reducing time-to-market of new products in a cost-effective and secure manner.
