The aim of this paper is to present a new Ants System ap proach to handle the dynamics of reactive scheduling prob lems in value added chains (VACs). The dynamics in such a chain are caused by various events which can disrupt plan nings for the construction of a product or service. To reach competition ability and fulfill different criteria of manufac turing a fast reaction to changed plans is necessary. To han dle the dynamism a special event based pheromone update strategy is considered. It is shown that this strategy leads to improved results.
