Abstract

Upgraded antenna control system and data acquisition system of the Siberian Solar Radio Telescope (SSRT) are considered. The further development prospects of these systems are defined within the project of up grading the SSRT. SSRT is a cross-shaped radio inter ferometer, designed to study the solar corona, which is situated in Tunka Valley (Figure 1). The parame ters of the SSRT: the operating frequency is 5.7 GHz, the bandwidth 120 MHz, the angular resolution up to 21 i n two-dimensional mode and up to 15 i n one dimensional mode, the temporal resolution of the 2D data is about a few minutes (2..3), and 14 ms for the 1D data. The antenna system of SSRT consists of 256 reflectors with equatorial mount. The control system of antenna array is basically intended for controlling stepper motors installed on each antenna one motor per each of two coordinates. The upgrade of given sys tem was in full change of its architecture, software and hardware. Instead of used earlier the CAMAC serial crate network the local area network of stand-alone antenna controllers was designed by the Technological Design Institute of Scientific Instrument Engineering (TDI SIE SB RAS). The TCP/IP is used as the com munications protocol. Each control unit is virtually a PC-104 controller. The data acquisition system of the SSRT virtually represents a multichannel spectrum analyzer [1]. Instead of previous data acquisition sys tem implemented in CAMAC the new system using interface USB was developed by the Institute of Au tomation and Electrometry (IAE SB RAS).
