Energy Conservation, Energy survey, Energy Loss
This paper describes an approach to “energy conservation” which allows one to methodically discover opportunities for reducing energy use in industrial and commercial facilities. The approach is based on a true understanding of energy, which allows the user to find all opportunities. It is not based on mathematical models because in practice these models are almost impossible to define accurately. It does not require sophisticated mathematical analysis. Examples are given for applications in the production, transmission and use of steam. These examples show that the principles presented can be easily applied to effect significant reduction in energy costs.
