Information proliferation over the web has provided educators and instructional designers possibilities to incorporate learning objects (LO) into their online courses. Yet, there exist several problems with use of web resources in educational settings. Upon this, this paper examine the currently existing issues in the instructional design and provides justifications for an ontological recommender system approach to support instructional design by locating suitable learning objects.
