One-cycle control, power factor, power generation
A new control method for single-phase grid-connected inverters is presented. The inverter consists of an H bridge structure and a One-cycle control core. After decoupling the H-bridge structure of the inverter into a buck converter in each half line cycle, One-cycle control is used to control the output current to follow the grid voltage with near unity power factor. The proposed control circuit comprises an integrator with reset along with a few linear and logic components. No multipliers are required. The maximum output current, thus the real output power, can be controlled. The proposed inverter was analyzed and experimentally verified with a 1kW prototype circuit. This method can be used in renewable energy power generation.
