Instructional design, dual curriculum and vocational education
The paper describes a new instructional design, which utilises web-based education techniques, in a Finnish project called MOTTO. The instructional design offers students an opportunity to take a parallel curriculum in both the upper secondary school diploma and vocational diploma. Usage of web-based education techniques in vocational degree instruction makes this dual curriculum special. Moreover, the paper describes students´ and their teachers´ experiences using the new distance based vocational curriculum. Those experiences were compiled in interviews that were made in spring and summer 2006.
