Fuel cell, circuit model, simulator, and renewable energy sources
This paper presents the development of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell simulators (FCSs) in both hardware and software with simplicity and low cost. In the proposed FCSs, the voltage and current gains can be adjustable independently, which shows that the proposed FCSs are able to magnify either current or voltage or both of them while the current-voltage characteristics of a small power fuel cell are still maintained. The experimental results from the hardware FCS in comparison with the simulation results from the software FCS show a good agreement. Therefore, the proposed FCSs can be used as a convenient economic alternative tool for simulation, developing and testing the converters, inverters or other loads to be driven by fuel cell system.
