Abstract

This paper deals with the characterization of an active front end used typically in the automotive area. This re quires the measurement of the transfer function for low frequency (functional area) and for RF frequencies (non functional area, EMC-behavior). Either high impedance probes or impedance matching networks are needed to connect the circuit output to a vector network analyzer (VNA). The advantages and disadvantages of several standard procedures are discussed. A new setup is pre sented allowing a one step characterization.
