Abstract

Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) effects on flow of blood have been studied through an irregular stenosis. The flow is characterized by micropolar fluid model. This model takes into account blood rheology, in which blood consists of microelements suspended in plasma. The governing equations involving unsteady nonlinear partial differential equations are solved by employing finite difference scheme to obtain the velocity profiles and the flow characteristics. It is observed that MHD decreases the velocity and the flow rate but increases the wall shear stress.
