Abstract

The article advocates application of domain-specific ontologies for resolution of difficulties in design and integration of multi-agent simulation systems in microeconomics. In this context integration mostly means run-time combination of heterogeneous components for large-scale simulation experiments, but also it is related with ability to re-use the same model in different modeling frameworks. Illustrating major principles of the proposed approach, authors describe a variant of microeconomics ontology, and major features of the modeling tool, facilitating ontology-based design and code generation for a distributed agent-based modeling environment. Obtained results speed up development of economic simulations and form a foundation of further research in model’s composability.
