We demonstrate efficient multi-wavelength Brillouin erbium fibre lasers incorporating two types of optical filters. The incorporation of a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) filter reduces the effect of self-lasing in the system, which allows the number of output channels to increase and at the same time improve the stability of output channels. The region of operation of the laser can be extended to fully utilize the broad erbium gain spectrum if the FBG filter was made tunable. This is demonstrated using a tunable band-pass filter which has extended the region of operation of the laser to as wide as 32 nm.
