This paper is an overview about the use of the tecnologies of the information for the Medical Help at a Distance (MHD). We use a multicultural approach where we place side by side scientific descriptions and medical, social and economic considerations to make a shared knowledge and to provide a theoretical-practical basis that permits us to face the subject. With the analysis of the technologies of the information at the applications disposal, through the description of the development and the diffusion of MHD, we draw conclusions and hypothesis about the near future. The subject was completed through a case study relative to the use of MHD in the space.
