Requirements management,, Software measurement, UML
Changes of the requirements occur in almost every IT projects. It is the consequence of the changes at their business and technology environment. Every requirement change affects in potentially negative way the project parameters like schedule or budget; generates some non-scheduled work to do and can be a source of mistakes. In this paper we describe how in UML based projects we can improve the process of modification forced by changes of the requirements. Presented approach is based on the extension of the UML, called UML(VR), which uses graph theory tools for assurance of consistency among elements form different kinds of UML diagrams (vertical consistency). Additionally, we show how using the same approach makes possible measure of the project stability in much more precise way, what gives us better rationales for project rating.
