Cutting in virtual reality environment is a means to a more efficient, accessible and moral practice for surgical students and surgeons. A realistic sensation of cutting requires different considerations such as: a close to ideal force and position feedbacks and a 3D visual virtual environment to simulate the real scene as best as possible. In this paper different algorithms on angle/force modeling from real data are investigated and compared to vote for the best method to simulate the virtual cutting environment. In addition, a 3D graphical user interface has been developed to satisfy the user visually. The whole virtual-reality environment has been tested with different users to validate our experiment.
