Soil properties, soil cadmium activity, entropy weight, correlation analysis
Cadmium pollution in farmland soil is affected by many different soil properties. Considering that soil properties interact with each other in a variety of ways, research on the associations among soil properties is important. Through the analysis of entropy weight, it was found that the correlation between a soil property’s entropy weight and cadmium activity was more significant than the amount of the soil property in the soil. Fitting soil properties and soil cadmium activity to a linear regression after being screened by entropy weight analysis was better than selecting soil properties subjectively. After clustering, the entropy weight of the monitoring data was calculated, and the regression was conducted according to the entropy weight, which can significantly improve the fit of the regression equation (R2 from 0.207 to 0.249–0.401). This result was important for analysing the main factors affecting cadmium activity in soil and targeting preventative methods to control cadmium pollution. This methodology was also applicable to other soil pollutants and other research areas.
