Predictive control, cascade control, superheater control
The paper deals with preliminary results in the development of a General Predictive Controller for superheater temperature control. The approach is based on a linearized multivariable model of the process. The controller, in a sense, follows the traditional cascade scheme using the inner measured variable in the prediction. The nonlinearity of the controlled process is handled by on-line identification. The proposed controller is compared to a traditional PI cascade controller compensating the steam massflow disturbance in a feedforward manner. The evaluation is based on simulation experiments.
